Media Release: Child and Family Services of Grand Erie (CFSGE) Groundbreaking
CREATING ACCESSIBLE SPACE FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH, AND FAMILIES WE SERVE – CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES OF GRAND ERIE BREAKING GROUND ON NEW OFFICE LOCATION
Brantford, ON (July 8, 2024) – Child and Family Services of Grand Erie (CFSGE) is holding a ceremony to commemorate the groundbreaking of its new Brantford location at 221 Henry Street.
The single-story building will be the new home of CFSGE and EarlyON Programming in Brantford. The building will be approximately 25,000 square feet of office space, an EarlyON Center and a welcoming space for our Family Visit Program. As well, an outdoor space will be available to be enjoyed by those attending the new location. A grand opening is slated for Summer 2025.
The new location will consolidate the existing offices at 70 and 80 Chatham Street, 14 Henry Street and 109-111 George Street. Services in Haldimand and Norfolk Counties will continue to be delivered from our location at 70 Town Centre Drive, Townsend. The new location will also serve as the new Head Office for the CFSGE Foundation.
Planning for the new location has taken place over the last two years in partnership with Villarboit Development Corporation, ENCOR Advisors, xdesign, The City of Brantford, Royal Bank, and EarlyON, as well as the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. Villarboit Development Corporation is the general contractor of the project and the owner of the property.
About CFSGE In 2022, the former Brant Family and Children’s Services and The Children’s Aid Society of Haldimand and Norfolk amalgamated to form Child and Family Services of Grand Erie. Child and Family Services of Grand Erie (CFSGE) is an agency mandated by the Province of Ontario through the Child, Youth, and Family Services Act (2017) (CYFSA) to ensure the protection of children from abuse and neglect. The Child, Youth, and Family Services Act (2017) (CYFSA) includes the mandate, function, and responsibilities of a Children’s Aid Society.
CFSGE serves the communities of the City of Brantford, Counties of Brant, Haldimand, Norfolk, and Mississaugas of The Credit First Nation.
