Child and Family Services of Grand Erie Foundation (CFSGE Foundation)
Child and Family Services of Grand Erie Foundation (CFSGE Foundation) was established to provide additional funds to help children and youth in the communities we serve reach their full potential. Funding is used to support programs, services and activities that fall outside of the Ministry of Children and Community Social Services (MCCSS) funding criteria, but that are known to reduce the risks of child abuse and/or neglect, and improve outcomes for children and youth who are in the care of Child and Family Services of Grand Erie (CFSGE), as well as for family, children and youth that are working with the society.
Although a child may become a legal adult at a certain age, it is impossible to determine a ‘finite end date’ of parenting responsibilities based on a child’s age. The CFSGE Foundation assists youth currently and formerly in the extended care of the Society to further their post-secondary education.
The CFSGE Foundation believes that the saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child and keep children safe’ has many applications and is not just limited to children in the society’s care. Funds are also provided to many children who are referred from the community to help them attend summer camp each year.
100% of the funds donated to the Foundation are applied directly to the programs that it supports.
