Child Development Unit
The work of the Child Development Unit is carried out in the broader community, where our staff works with families and Community Partners to navigate the journey of parenting and raising children. Child and Family Services of Grand Erie is the lead agency at numerous EarlyON Child and Family Centres, including three neighbourhood resource centres located in Brantford (New Beginnings, Northland Gardens, Stepping Stones) and various local schools and community centres. At the EarlyON programs, families will be engaged in opportunities to learn and explore through art, music, physical movement, and sensory play to build imagination, growth, and development. All babies from birth to age 6, with their parents /caregivers, are welcome to join for free play and inquiry-based programs.
Fun activities include messy art, science experiments, storytelling, and a group song circle. We might get messy, and we might get loud, but we will always have fun!
The mandate of keeping children safe needs to belong to the whole community. EarlyON Child and Family Centre programs work to provide a welcoming and safe place for families to connect with one another, Registered Early Childhood Educators, and other Community Partners to widen the circle of support for families. We strive to work with families in Brantford-Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk, helping them to create community to foster belonging, inclusion, support, and hope for their family.
